My Advice to Parents During COVID-19 as an Internet Safety Expert and Abduction Survivor.

Kids are home from school and online more than ever. They are, understandably, turning to the Internet, social media, and online gaming for human connection.
I mean, aren’t we all? 🤷‍♀️
This makes them vulnerable and leaves them at risk to online dangers - cyberbullying, sexual exploitation, online predators.
I know these dangers all too well. At 13, I was kidnapped and held captive by an online predator.
After my rescue, I chose to dedicate my life to fighting predatory crimes and keeping kids safe. Now, I am a motivational speaker, advocate, and Internet safety expert. I also have a Master's Degree in Forensic Psychology.
Safety is at the forefront of our minds currently, and we must remember to keep our children safe online.
It’s a scary stressful time for all of us – adults and kids alike. This is not about adding another fearful thing to their lives, it’s about teaching them to be safe in this new normal.
